We used to be skeptical of nuclear. Now we consider it essential to protecting our children from pollution, our landscapes from sprawl, and future generations from global warming.

We've learned a lot from our experience working at Diablo Canyon, California's last nuclear power plant. We started Mothers for Nuclear as a way to share our stories and help address concerns. We also hope to begin a dialogue with those who are skeptical of nuclear.

I am Kristin Zaitz

I am a co-founder of Mothers for Nuclear and mom to Oliver, Kate, and Sasha. I am an outdoors-woman, civil engineer, project manager, and nuclear power professional. 

I am Heather Matteson

I am a co-founder of Mothers for Nuclear, and Zoe's mom. I am a materials scientist, nuclear reactor operator and lifelong environmentalist.
