"As mothers, we feel a responsibility to protect our children, and the planet they'll inherit."
I am Kristin Zaitz
I am a co-founder of Mothers for Nuclear and mom to Oliver and Kate. I am an outdoors-woman, civil engineer, project manager, and nuclear power professional.
We are friends, mothers, environmentalists, scientists, and engineers.
We used to be skeptical of nuclear. Now we consider it essential to protecting our children from pollution, our landscapes from sprawl, and future generations from global warming.
We've learned a lot from our experience working at Diablo Canyon, California's last nuclear power plant. We started Mothers for Nuclear as a way to share our stories and help address concerns. We also hope to begin a dialogue with those who are skeptical of nuclear.
