Advanced Reactor Summit, San Diego
Heather attended the Advanced Reactor Summit in San Diego to share about why she and Kristin started Mothers for Nuclear.
She also talked with the Department of Energy about her thoughts on nuclear energy.
On the way back home, Heather couldn’t resist stopping to visit San Onofre. Many people don’t realize this is a public beach and you can walk all the way out right in front of the power plant. The cliffs are actually quite beautiful!
When San Onofre shut down unexpectedly in 2013, it was replaced almost entirely with natural gas.
